“PEEP”
I love the vignetting effect. It shows an entirely different perspective on life - a perspective from a panopticon. And because I use a crop sensor camera, I just used the hood of my zoom lens to recreate this crop effect. Nice. Hi Bloo! (theblooplanet) ;)

“ISANG DIPANG LANGIT”
At ito ang tanging daigdig ko ngayon -
bilangguang mandi’y libingan ng buhay;
sampu, dalawampu, at lahat ng taon
ng buong buhay ko’y dito mapipigtal.
Nguni’t yaring diwa’y walang takot-hirap
habang may Bastilya’y may bayang gaganti.
At bukas, diyan din, aking matatanaw
sa sandipang langit na wala nang luha,
sisikat ang gintong araw ng tagumpay…
layang sasalubong ako sa paglaya!
This shot was inspired by Amado V. Hernandez’s Isang Dipang Langit. Freedom was the cry during the times of Spanish rule in the Philippines. I see that cry embodied in this shot. Dramatic. Simply dramatic.

“BAWAL UMIHI…SIGE KA.”
Miko (thephotowalkkid) taught us that in street photography, one should be aware of signs and symbols which inject humor in our daily lives. Hmm…quite humorous, and yet I fear the future of the one caught urinating there. =))

“I SEE YOU!”
Isn’t it amazing how Nikon cameras and lenses maintain compatibility through the years? Here’s JV (coloredprints) using my 18-55mm DX lens on his film Nikon FE (it does vignette though…) and I, on the other hand shooting him using his 50mm f/1.4 (no autofocus though…)
The 50mm f/1.4 really is a sleeper lens :) And I am a sucker for pretty bokeh…such a shame I left my cam on Shutter Priority :\

“NIKON FE + AF-D NIKKOR 50mm F/1.4”
This was the camera combo brought by coloredprints during the photo walk last May 1st in Intramuros. I got to borrow the lens and the camera twice and may I say that they are both to die for. (especially the lens!) :))
f/1.4. Amazing. Beautiful bokeh, lightweight yet is built like a tank. I just love the lens. Can be called a bargain at 16,000.
The Nikon FE on the other hand was a great camera too! Am even looking to buying one for myself. Holding the camera really tells you that this ain’t a toy camera. Metal body all the way!

“LOOK UP”
We live in a world which has such a fast pace that we tend to forget to appreciate the simplest of beauties. A simple house with the sky in the background. Nothing to be excited about, and yet still exudes beauty when one looks beyond the simplicity. :)

Will be posting the other photos of the OTW photo walk tomorrow :) Still need to put watermarks on them. Good night! :)

“POGING PINOY”
Candid portraits are really my kind of photographs. This kid embodies just that. He showcases what a kid should really be like…a kid - playful, joyous and ecstatic. The utter simplicity of life.

“BLAST FROM THE PAST”
This is one of the pictures I took during the OTW photo walk with JaywalkersPH in Intramuros last May 1. This was a photograph that I chanced upon that showcased how technology really had advanced through the years. :)
