“OLD MANILA”
I personally love this shot of the Pasig River along with the barge and the old building behind it. A monochrome picture plus a dramatic scene is a match made in heaven :) Just be careful not to drop your camera into the waters below ;)

"PATH OF TIMES PAST"
Another photo of the path which had the year printed on the archaic bricks. See? They had 1989, 1981 and others bearing 1861. Just amazed with how these bricks stood the test of time and are silent witnesses to the histories that occurred as these bricks were laid.

"1861"
There’s this pathway along the fort surrounding the walls of Intramuros that really intrigued me. The pathway, paved with bricks are etched with numbers. 1861… 1981… 1861… 1861… 1981. As I found out, those were actually the years the bricks were from. 1861! Imagine that, that that brick was from the time Jose Rizal was born! Amazing. Simply amazing being able to hypothetically walk through this pathway and go back in time. :)

"HEARTBREAKER"
This site was once used as a skate park for skateboarder professionals and newbies. They come here to train and show off their skills to their fellow skateboarders. Photographers also come here to practice their skills in panning and getting creative shots from these skateboarders.
Such a heartbreaker that this once sprawling skate park has has been turned into a basketball court. :( I am lucky to have been able to see it as a skate park when the JaywalkersPH went and did a photo walk here last May 1st :’)

"PHOTOGRAPHER AT WORK"
This is a portrait of my friend Agnes (aagnessie). She’s the friend I was with the entire day during our accidental photo walk. :))) She’s really a good friend of mine and an equally great budding photographer as well. She’s somewhat my understudy, and I train her with my continually expanding knowledge in photography. :) Do follow her guys, she has an amazing eye for photos. Trust me, I can vouch for her. :D

Think we went to Hong Kong or Beijing? Think again. =)) This was entirely in Chinatown. Agnes (agnessie), my friend, was amazed that that was even existent in the Philippines - Chinese iterations of shops and restaurants! =))))
Tried to fix the lens distortion a bit cause I was off angle in shooting the building… :P

"FORWARD THROUGH BINONDO’S GATE"
Another buwis buhay shot, standing in the middle of Binondo’s primary thoroughfare, Quintin Paredes street. This photo is special to me because, having Chinese roots, it reminds the special bond between this part of the city and a part of my humanity. :)

"GATEWAY TO CHINATOWN"
Ever experienced being on the brink of dying in the name of photography? I just did this afternoon.
This can probably be my most "BUWIS BUHAY" shot of the today. :)) Shot in the middle of Jones Bridge, a bridge that connects Manila to Binondo, this was an integral passageway. And with that comes many vehicles. MANY VEHICLES. I was shooting in the center island of the bridge while Agnes (aagnessie), my friend, stood guard on whether I was about to be run over. We took turns taking photos of the bridge, while the other one stood guard. :)))
SUCH AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE.

Pardon this test shot. :)) This was taken using a AI-S Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Series E lens,  the lens I have been searching for so long. Never imagined I would find it in Hidalgo during our accidental photo walk escapade with Agnes (aagnessie). :D An AI-S lens, meaning no metering and no autofocus on my camera, meaning I’d really be going back to basics…and learn re-everything :) This lens is like dirt cheap. I can tell you the price of it but I’d have to kill you. =))) HAHAHAHA!
