“BEAUTY BEHIND A SILHOUETTE”
Towards the end of the day, everyone started capturing silhouettes, and I joined the bandwagon as well. The photo turned out better than I expected :) Cheers to the sun, the sky and the beauty behind that silhouette. :3

“A LANDSCAPE TAKEN A THOUSAND TIMES”
This angle of the Main Building probably is one of the most captured angles of the structure, next to its full frontal view. Well, here’s my take on it. :)
I might call myself an architectural night photographer because there is just something about buildings that I love capturing, and I do it when other photographers start to pack up and leave for home. Armed with either my kit lens or thirty your old prime lens, I conquer the buildings and see what others miss after the sun sets :)

“THE BEAUTY OF BLACK AND WHITE”
I have always been fascinated with portraiture. Especially the ones done in black and white. They give a sense of elegant beauty and richness to a model who poses for a monochrome portrait. It gives an impression of mystery and passion to a photo, which may be considered “dull” if given color.
This is a test shot of a lovely telephoto lens I got my hands on in Hidalgo. It was a Nikon 100mm Series E lens, another lens from my beloved Series E Nikon lenses. The asking price for the lens was quite high for its price, but for that price, every centavo is worth spending, considering you get photos as beautiful as this (the subject is beautiful, of course), with a dinky plastic lens :)

“DO YOU KNOW WHO HE IS?”
One of the best photographers I have known in my entire life, he has greatly inspired me in my work as a photographer. He is such a great guy too, very approachable and very very very down to earth. I even asked his permission if I could post his photo, he gladly obliged. Cool bro, you’re just so cool.
Would you happen to know who he is? :D

“BIGLANG TINGIN”
Alam mo yung biglang tingin?

“A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM” - Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

“NIKON F50”
I have really been fancying Nikon Film SLRs the past few days that now I want to get one for myself. :D This is my classmate’s Nikon F50. I have been researching on it for quite sometime now. It has piqued my attention because it has autofocus, it has a built-in AF motor in the body and even has metering. Nearly a twenty year old camera, but it has the comforts of today’s cameras, considering that this is an entry level body! Will be buying this camera from that classmate after the semester. :)
EXCITED! :3

“SCREW UP”
This is a screwed up photo. Notice the black banding on the lower right of the photo? That’s my camera strap. :))) Fail. Sayang yung photo, maganda pa naman…building ko pa naman sa UST.
Well, we all learn from our mistakes :)
LESSON LEARNED: Don’t be too frantic in getting the perfect shot. Compose properly :)

“UNSUNG HEROES”
The Main Building of the University of Santo Tomas has been photographed numerous times through the years, but the figures who stand as silent witnesses have always become pushed into the limelight. As a Thomasian, I apologize for forgetting who they are. But to me, they are unsung heroes who helped mold the Thomasian identity to what it is today :)

Played a little with my prime lens today to get this shot. But I think I’ve overdone it with the shallow depth of field :))))) Still, the photo came out very light and airy like spring :>

“LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE”
The University of Santo Tomas traces its roots to Miguel de Benavides, a Spanish clergyman who donated a sum of his personal property and his library in order to establish the University.
Knowledge is light. It does away with darkness brought about by the lack of education. When one is learned, all doubts and fears about the world simply melts away. I believe that Miguel de Benavides envisions that the world be rid of darkness and let the light of knowledge emanate and glow from amidst the darkness.

“PROBABLY THE MOST MEDIOCRE PICTURE I’D BE POSTING HERE ON MY PHOTO BLOG…”
This is the “studio set up” I used for my mini photo shoot for the 50mm lens awhile ago… sucky isn’t it? :))))) But I may say, the picture’s really sharp, because it’s shot using the Series E prime :)
I PROMISE NEVER TO REPEAT THIS SHOT EVER AGAIN. DON’T UNFOLLOW MEEEE! :(( :))
